I'll trade Doug's Xbox 360 for a few pairs of jeans (say, two men's and two women's) and a DVD player - doesn't have to be new, just has to be functional, since the Xbox is the only thing we have to play DVDs right now. But trust me, it'll be worth it to not have the video games in the house anymore.

I heard today that Whole Foods is planning on discontinuing the use of plastic bags in all stores by Earth Day in April of this year. That's not related to eWaste in particular, but found it of interest. This might even be worth an additional post concerning the use of plastic bags in consumerism, but we'll have to wait and see if I can think of anything more to write about.

But in all seriousness, this was a great exercise that I think all people of privilege should have to go through. I wasn't starving, but just knowing that I had spent all of my money at the beginning was tough on me. It should become a yearly routine .

We decided to amend our rules a bit based on practicality. We figured that we could use a limited amount of food in the house for items that someone would normally have for more than one week (such as sauces, spices, etc.). In other news I bought a small milkshake today for $2.51...and more than 12% of my weekly allowance. No more milkshakes for me...at least not until next Sunday.
